E. Pastoral Commission Tasks

1. From the Council of Co-Responsibles Manual

a. As a team they help the Rector meet requests for priests, allowing priests to experience the different pastoral realities in Italy and abroad, in close collaboration with the designated local Chaplains.

b. Assists in providing Spiritual Advisers for communities in need of one.

c. Helps those who are graduating to find priests to succeed them as Spiritual Advisers in their respective communities, and so to secure continuity of pastoral programs.

d. Proposes supplementary programs or modules along the thrusts of the Holy Father and the Philippine Church, which PCF priests may implement taking into account the particular situations and needs of the communities they serve.

e. Reminds PCF priests to adhere to the directions of the local Filipino chaplaincies, host parishes and dioceses, including the thrust of integration and compliance with the requirements for recognition.

2. Major sub-roles (one or more Priests per item, other than the Commission Head)

a. Field Priests to Masses with Filipino Communities, according to Priests’ availability and preferences
i. keep updated the list and status of Communities approved by the Sentro Filippino and other Chaplaincies
ii. assist in providing Spiritual Advisers to Communities

b. Special cases for those interested or available:
i. occasional Mass, Confession, anointing or blessing of a Filipino in a nearby hospital or mortuary
ii. other pastoral work such as non-Filipinos, intellectuals, diplomats, Religious Sisters, media, etc.
iii. spiritual formation and accompaniment to PCF staff and volunteers

c. Help maintain contact between PCF Priests and the Chaplaincies
i. relay to PCF Priests the Chaplaincies’ thrusts, needs and criteria for recognition of Communities
ii. Invite Communities to Collegio Day – working committees come from Communities served by PCF Priests; remind them that presentations should uplift the spiritual and cultural level (and besides project an image of the Church, the Collegio, and the Filipinos in general), hence to avoid vulgar, harsh, impolite, or sexual undertones, or using spiritual notions or liturgical materials out of context

d. Collate and distribute programs or modules through the Priests, that could be of help for Communities
i. including as much as possible references from the Holy Father, CBCP, and host local Churches

3. Coordinate with other Commissions during special occasions
